the historic brand

The Dawn of the Automobile

Combining the names of its two founders, Édouard Rochet and Théodore Schneider, the historic Rochet-Schneider brand grew out of a company making bicycles and silk goods.

From 1894 it developed within the Lyon automotive cluster, then in its infancy but buzzing with energy. The economic crisis of 1929 led to its gradual disappearance.

Traces of it can be found at the Henri Malartre automobile museum, where the first room bears the brand’s name. In Lyon, the long façade on rue Feuillat in the 3rd arrondissement is all that remains of the huge production plant (cars and lorries), which lived on under Berliet and later Renault VI.

If you have a connection with the historic brand, we would be delighted to share it here.

the brand today

Opening creation to everyone

The current Rochet-Schneider brand was registered by STUDIOPACK | DESIGN AGENCY in 2024.

François PESEZ closely followed the revival of another historic regional brand, De La Chapelle, by one of its descendants: Xavier De La Chapelle.

That is how the idea took shape of creating a world between reality (the historic brand) and imagination (today’s brand), open to everyone’s creations.

Today Rochet-Schneider is a “creator of dreamed cars”.

Our mission is to move you.
