Mercedes-AMG ONE

Unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show as Project One, the Mercedes-AMG ONE had an unprecedented goal: to put the power unit of a world-champion Formula 1 car on the road.

At its heart is a 1.6-litre hybrid turbo V6 taken directly from Mercedes’ single-seaters, combined with four electric motors. Together they produce more than 1,000 horsepower. The combustion engine revs to 11,000 rpm. Adapting this racing technology to emissions standards and road use proved so complex that the first deliveries only took place in 2022, several years late. Its active aerodynamics and carbon structure are also directly inspired by racing.

Built in a run of 275, all allocated before it was even unveiled, it set the Nürburgring lap record for a production car. The AMG ONE is the culmination of a long story: that of racing cars which, generation after generation, inspire road cars.
